Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
Thanks.. just saved $25 on a $150 order, cheap shipping ($5.00) and prices very good to start with.. Easy check out with paypal, should be a hit with all the preppers.
You know, things have calmed down since the 'october scare' but nothing has changed. The dollar/usa economy is still on thin ice and I believe FOOD will new gold in the next decade. I get the gut feeling buying long term storage food today is like buying GOLD was in 2000. It's a steal. |
Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
I've bought their dehydrated foods and I had no issues with the order - all as expected and well packed/shipped.
I agree Keef - can't lose sight of having a well stocked pantry. |
Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
I guess there's several of us that are on the various email lists. MREDepot, Emergency Essentials, Honeyville. No problems with any of them. MREDepot's prices are decent, but you have to watch out for shipping. It increases with each item. Usually, they'll offer a 15% off coupon, which effectively covers the shipping.
With EE, you know you'll pay a max of $12 for shipping. During their last sale, I picked up a few Mountain House meat entrees, diced taters, and vegetables that were discounted, and then got free shipping because my order was over $200. Honeyville is awesome. Great prices, especially if you catch a sale, and you can't beat $4.49 shipping. I've also noticed that these places are starting to have fewer items out of stock or temporarily unavailable. As mentioned, it seems people are losing their sense of urgency. Or they might be out of money. Still, it's a good idea to keep stocking up. I try to order a little something every month - kind of like dollar cost averaging with preps.... |
Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
But what about the quality? Is it top notch?
|
Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
everything that I have ordered has been top notch - I've eaten the pancake mixes and dehydrated foods. I have powdered milk and various other dehydrated foods that I have not tried - but I expect it is the same quality of the stuff I ahve eaten from them.

Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
I have placed an order with Emergency Essentials for Hard White Wheat. Their site doesn't specify if you're getting Wheat berries like HoneyvilleGrain.com does. Does anyone know if EE is shipping berries in #10 cans?
I remember Merlin stating berries keep longer than any other form....just wondering. Thanks |

Readymade resources might have the #10 can like you asked. |
Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
Most definitely. I'm comparing #10 to #10 though
HoneyVille Clearly states Berries (which I've heard Merlin state last much longer) http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/hardwhitewheatCAN.aspx EE doesn't state either way http://beprepared.com/product.asp_Q_...0White%20Wheat Thoughts? |

Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
I ended up buying from HoneyVille because they had a better price on a freeze dried pack of fruits VS EE and their wheat read berries.
Thanks for chiming in Merlin...always appreciate your input. :36_1_32v: |
Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from preparing in the best way they know how. Personally, I'm not buying my wheat berries in #10 cans. I bake way, way too much bread for that. But do what you can do. And give serious thought in the future to buying 40-45 pounds of wheat berries at one time in bulk. And maybe in multiples of that.
The real trick with wheat is to buy in BULK so that you get better shipping prices. It is absolutely amazing to me, as the years go by, to watch the big piles of wheat that I purchased, 2-3-4-5 years ago, disappear as I use them up. But... and it is a really big BUT, you have to buy a grain mill, create your own flour, and learn to bake. That is not a curse. It is all good. Because, at the end of the day, you'll be healthier for it. And it isn't expensive. |

Re: Honeyville Farms - 15% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER
15%! Awesome! I just placed an order for a little over $500. I've been very happy with everything I've ordered from them. And 15% is the best discount I've gotten yet. Now I'll need to order some more jars!
